My name is Ivan Conway; I am an Authorised Marriage Celebrant and a Justice of the Peace. My wife, Maureen and I have resided permanently in the Airlie Beach area since December 1997 and have always taken our holidays in the Whitsundays since 1974. I was actually christened on Daydream Island
in 1944, my parents occasionally managed the island at this time and conducted concert parties for the
American sailors on R and R from the war. The then owners of Daydream were the Moody's who were my Godparents.
I have been officiating at Weddings, reaffirmation and Naming ceremonies for more than twenty years on the Central Highlands coal fields, Rockhampton and Mackay and here in the beautiful Whitsunday's since December 1997. Being a professional Marriage Celebrant, I am bound by a Code of Practice and a Complaints Mechanism

I retired from the coal mining industry in December 1997 after serving almost 40 years as an underground coal miner, Mine Deputy and Training Officer to further my career as a Marriage
Celebrant in the Whitsunday's. I am committed to my role as a Marriage Celebrant and have officiated at many beautiful and memorable ceremonies in the Whitsunday's
and surrounding areas and Islands. Many of the highlights of my career as a celebrant in the Whitsunday's have involved officiating my daughter's wedding on Hamilton Island and numerous ceremonies aboard a beautifully
restored square rigged sailing ship named Solway Lass, aboard the well known "Whitsunday Magic" and on beautiful Whitehaven Beach and of course on all of the island resorts. I have also officiated many ceremonies aboard
privately owned luxury vessels and numerous charter yachts.
Being resident in Airlie Beach, I am able to effectively provide immediate attention to couples contemplating their wedding ceremony in the Whitsunday's and the many beautiful island locations.
I also have immediate access to qualified Wedding Consultants, Venue Decorators, Travel Agencies, Photographers, Videographers, Hairdressers, Beauty Therapists and Florists who are able to meet your
every need when planning your ceremony. Limousine, vintage and luxury car hire is also available at excellent rates. These professional people have a price structure
to meet every budget.
I have held my Private Pilot's Licence since 1971 and have access to an aircraft when available if I am required to travel away for a ceremony to either the coalfields or nearby
towns. The aircraft gives me immediate fast access to a number of island resorts and many of the inland Townships.
